FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions Answer

Now, that most of us know about the toxic effects of Formaldehyde, Para-formaldehyde, Quaternary Ammonium Chlorides and Bronopol based holding tank products, how do we change over?

First, remember, the old chemicals are still in the system and need to be removed. Also, some old chemicals are absorbed by or "cling to" the plastic walls of the tanks. This can cause your new Bacterial Products to not work as expected.

So let's get rid of the problem!

  • Simply fill your Holding Tank(s) with fresh water and allow to sit for about two hours then drain into approved Sani-Dump.
  • Repeat if convenient.
  • Start by using Westchem Crystal Blue because it will not be effected by the toxic chemicals and is a great way to remove them. Follow instructions for normal usage. One (1) lid full per tank dump. One jar will yield about 15 treatments. Finish using Crystal Blue and your tanks(s) will be free of those toxic chemicals.
